It is a crispy filling of coconut and khoya sealed with a clove hence the name.
Makes Approximately 10
1 cup Maida(All purpose flour)
1/4 cup Ghee
Water to Knead
Oil for frying
For the Filling:
1/2 cup Khoya
1 fresh grated Coconut
1 cup Sugar
- Add hot ghee to sieved Maida(all purpose flour) mix it well, then add water little by little and knead into a soft dough and leave for 30 minutes to set.
- For the Filling mix grated coconut ,khoya,sugar and set aside.
- Make 10 equal balls from the dough.Take a ball roll it into a thin round shape,put one spoon of filling in the center close the sides over lapping the filling first diagonally and horizontally one on top of the other to form packets and seal it with clove.
- Deep fry on low flame till it becomes golden brown. Sweet,crispy lavang latika’s are ready.
