Garlic dal fry is a quick and easy dal made with ghee(clarified butter) and garlic.It can be served with rice and Indian flatbreads as a side.

1/2 cup Boiled Toor Dal (Wash and cook 1/2 cup of dal in 1 and 1/4 cup of water in a pressure cooker on medium flame for 4-5 whistles).Allow the pressure cooker to cool completely before opening the lid.
5 Garlic cloves sliced
1/2 tbsp tomato paste(optional)
1/2 tbsp cumin seed
1 tsp finely chopped coriander/cilantro leaves
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tbsp Ghee(clarified butter)
Pinch of asafoetida/hing
- Heat a pan with ghee ,add cumin seeds allow them to splutter.
- Now add garlic ,hing and fry for a min.Then add tomato paste,red chili powder,coriander leaves, dal and bring it to a boil and serve hot with rice and Indian flat breads.
