A quick and healthy dal(lentil) made using split green gram and roughly chopped cabbage tempered with Indian seasoning.It goes well with steamed rice,quinoa or roti.

1/2 cup Moong Dal
1 Cup chopped cabbage
2 green chilies roughly chopped(optional)
2 tbsp. Chopped cilantro for garnish(optional)
1tbsp Lemon juice
salt to taste
Boiling dal Instructions:
1.In a pressure cooker add moong dal wash thoroughly for 1/2 cup of dal add 1 and 1/4 cups of water. Also add Cabbage and green chilies cook along with dal.
2.Cook on medium heat for 2 to 3 whistles .switch off the stove and allow it to cool down before you open the lid.
1/2tsp Mustard seeds
1/2tsp urad dal
1/2tsp cumin seeds
Pinch of turmeric
pinch of Asafetida(Hing)
1 dry red chili
1.Heat a pan on medium heat with oil add seasoning ingredients allow them to splutter.
2.Then add the cooked dal, turmeric and salt.Mix thoroughly and allow it to cook for a minute or two.
3.Switch off the flame and add lemon juice.Serve hot with steamed rice,Quinoa or roti.
