Onion Kulcha

Onion kulcha is a Indian flatbread filled with onions and some Indian spices.We can make a similiar flling with boiled potatoes, grated paneer (Indian cottage cheese) and mixed vegetables.

Prep time:1hr
cook time:5mins
Makes 6-8

For dough:
1cup Whole wheat flour
water for kneading the dough
salt to taste

Procedure to make dough:
-In a large bowl prepare the dough by mixing flour,salt and waterinto a hard dough.Allow it to rest for 30 mins to 1 hr.
-Divide the dough into 6 to 8 equal round balls.

For the filling:
1 medium onion-Finely chopped
2 green chilies finely chopped
2tbsp cilantro
1tsp coriander powder
1/2tsp cumin powder
1/2tsp Red chili powder
pinch of salt

-In a bowl mix all the filling ingredients together and set aside.

Procedure to prepare onion kulcha:
-Stuff each ball of dough with teaspoon of filling and seal the dough.Similarly follow the same way to fill the rest of the dough.
-Take a rolling pin and rollout the kulcha evenly into a cirlce.
-Once the pan is hot enough place the Kulcha on the pan and cook on both sides.
-Cut the kulcha into four equal pieces and serve it with plain yogurt or curry of your choice.
