Roasted sweet potato chaat healthy snack for cold winter weather.It is prepared by roasted sweet potato and seasoned with indian spices and chutney’s.
Serve it along with some masala chai latte(Indian spice black tea) .
1 large sweet potato
1 tbsp Chaat masala(I use this store bought Chaat Masala)
1 tsp roasted cumin seed power
salt to taste
1 tsp lemon juice
2 Finely chopped green chilies
2 finely chopped shallots
1tbspfinely chopped coriander/cilantro
1 tbsp Sev (i use this store broughtHaldiram Sev)
some pomegranate seeds for garnish
1/2 tsp tamarind date chutney
1)Wash, peel the skin and cut into small bites size pieces season it with oil and cumin powder, red chili powder, dried basil leaves, salt and ground pepper powder,
roast it in oven at 400(F) until golden brown and crispy.
2)In a large serving bowl add the roasted sweet potatoes and rest of the ingredients mix well. Serve it warm with some tea and enjoy.
1)I like to season sweet potato before roasting. You can and pepper. use
2)Adding sev (its chickpea noodles) & pom seeds gives a nice crunch and color.
3)You can add combination of root vegetables like carrot. potato ,turnips, parsnips etc., and follow the same recipe.
