Khichdi(Rice & lentil porridge) it a simple protein rich one pot meal prepared with moong dal and rice.
It is a light, easy to digest and best option for a healthy dinner ,cold weather days. Serve it with a curry of your choice or eat as is with some lemon pickle or yogurt stew(Kadhi).

Cook time:20mins
Serves 2
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Rice(short grain)
1/2 cup Moong dal(split green gram with skin)
3 cups water
For seasoning:
Pinch of turmeric powder
1tsp oil
2tbsp ghee(clarified butter)
salt to taste
Pinch of Hing
Procedure:
1)In a large bowl wash rice and moong dal for about 2-3 times or until the water is clear.
2)Add the rice and moong dal into the pressure cooker with 3 cups of water and add rest of the seasoning close the lid allow it cook for 3-4 whistles.
3)Turn off the flame and let steam escape naturally. Carefully open the lid. Mix well and serve it hot with some yogurt stew.
