Pav Bhaji is prepared by boiled and mashed vegetables cooked in onion tomato sauce and seasoned with pav bhaji masala.It is served with a slices of bread/dinner rolls(Pav) toasted with butter along with sliced raw onion, lemon wedge and cliantro.Perfect party snack and a crowd pleaser.
Prep time:5-8mins
cook time:20-30mins
Serves 4-5
Ingredients:
2 cups roughly chopped potatoes
1/2 cup cauliflower florets
1 green bell pepper chopped
2 carrot roughly chopped
1/2 cup water
pinch of salt
pinch of turmeric
Step 1:
wash all the vegetables thoroughly and add all the ingredient to the pressure cooker.cook for 2-3 whistles.
Allow the pressure to come off naturally.Use a potato masher and roughly mash the vegetables and set aside.
For the curry(Bhaji):
1 cup finely chopped onions
2 tomatoes finely chopped
*2 tbsp Pav bhaji masala
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 tsp butter
For Garnish:
1 small finely chopped onions
finely chopped cilatro
lemon wedges
Procedure:
-Heat a skillet on a medium flame with butter add onion,salt and ginger garlic paste.Sautee until onions are soft.
-Add chopped tomatoes,pav bhaji masala and cook until soft,fragrant.
-Finally add the mash vegetable mixture from step (1).Mix throughly check the salt and seasoning.Cook for 4-5 mins.
-Toast the slices of bread or dinner rolls with butter on hot griddle and serve it as a side with curry along with some onions,lemon and cilantro.
Delicious & I noticed pav Bhaji Masala Powder missing in ingredients..
