Avocado chili lime flatbread(roti) are creamy, soft and melts in your mouth. Every bite of the roti had distinct flavors. It is great way to incorporate avocado everyday in the form of smoothies,sandwich or paratha’s as it a rich in good fats and essential nutrients.
Dough rest time:10 mins
Cook time:15 mins
1 and half ripe avocado (cut and remove the pulp mash it into smooth paste using a fork)
1/2 tsp olive oil
salt to taste
1 tbsp finely chopped green chilies or crushed red chili flakes
1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
*1 tbsp lemon zest
1 cup whole wheat flour or multigrain flour
*few drops of water as needed
-In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients and mix well to form a dough. Allow it to rest for 10-15mins.
-Divide the dough into 6 equal parts. Take one part of the dough roll into a circle using a rolling pin.
-Place a griddle on a stove on a medium flame once its hot enough then place the roti and cook evenly on both sides.
-Similarly prepare the roti’s for rest of the dough.
-Serve hot with curry of your choice or plain yogurt.
-Use a grater for lemon zest. This is a great addition for the roti as it infuses the lemon flavors.
