Onion Kachori

Onion Kachori is a delicious evening snack prepared using a dough filled with onion and some spices.Deep fried until golden and crispy.Serve hot with some mint chutney or tomato ketchup or tamarind chutney.

Ingredients for dough:
1/2 cup All purpose flour
1 tsp ghee
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp ajwain
water to knead the dough

For Filling:
1 medium onion finely chopped
1 tsp coriander cumin powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp fennel powder
pinch of hing
2 -3 tbsp chickpea flour
salt to taste
pinch of turmeric
1 tsp oil

Oil for frying as required

Procedure:
-In a mixing bowl add all the flour ingredient mix well to form a soft dough.Set aside to rest for 15 mins.
-Heat a pan and add all the filing ingredient fry it on a low medium flame until onion are soft and fragrant.Set aside.
-Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and roll out into a circle.add 2 tbsp of onion mixture and gather all the corners of the dough and seal.remove any excess dough.
-flattened it with your palm and set aside.follow the same process for rest of the dough.
-Heat oil on a medium heat once hot enough add the kachori and fry until crispy and golden brown.
-Serve hot with some chutney of your choice.
